Biography of Nelly(Cornell Haynes)

NELLY WAS RAISED IN ST.LOUIS,MISSOURI. NELLY HAS ALSO SPENT MANY YEARS IN SPAIN WHILE HIS FATHER WAS IN THE U.S MILITARY. WHILE THERE HE FORMED THE ST.LUNATICS WITH HIS FRIENDS. HE SOON GOT OFFERS TO BECOME A SOLO ACT. and then SIGNED BY THE UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP.







In 2001, Nelly's sister Jacqueline "Jackie" Donahue was diagnosed with leukemia. In 2003, Nelly and Jackie started the Jus Us 4 Jackie foundation. To a search for a bone marrow donor. Although the search was unsuccessful for Jackie, (she died March 24, 2005 from leukemia when she was 31) the foundation was able to find matches for others. Two children from Jackie's hometown of St. Louis were saved because of the foundation. Nelly has continued charity work in her memory.


Nelly has two children. A daughter named Chanell Haynes (born February 27 1994) and a son named Cornell Haynes III, (born March 2 1999).



His music career has led him to win two Grammies for the singles “Hot in herre” and “Dilemma.”and He has also achieved three number ones in the United Kingdom (four including his vocal contribution to "Nasty Girl" by Notorious B.I.G.), four U.S. Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles, and three Grammy Awards.Nelly was also named "Best New Artist" at the first Annual BET Awards in 2001. Including more awards for many other records he has done. But there not as important.
